Refrigerant appliances (fridges & freezers)
Fridges and freezers need their refrigerant safely evacuated first. EPA-certified metal recyclers like Front Range Recycling Services offer free pickup and handle the refrigerant at no charge.

Washers, dryers, ovens, water heaters, and loose metal can be scrapped. Local haulers such as Metal Men (720-215-1388) pick up appliances, vehicles, and scrap.

Douglas County electronics recycling — free
Douglas County residents recycle electronics free, year-round, at the GreenWorks site in Sedalia (5675 Delva Way), Mon–Sat 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Reservation required. Takes computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, TVs, printers, phones, and game consoles.

Mattresses
Mattresses and box springs are recyclable — the foam, steel, and fabric get separated and reused. When we haul yours we route it to recycling; doing it yourself, ask your mattress retailer about haul-away or check for a local mattress-recycling program before you go.
